Today, we are telling you a little bit about Richey Property Management and what sets us apart from other property management companies in the northern Virginia area. We are a boutique management firm, and we own rental properties ourselves. That means we understand the pain and the excitement of owning rental property. We know how satisfying it can be to have a good tenant in place who can pay rent on time and take good care of the property. That part is great. We also know the pain of getting that call to report things are broken or not working properly. That’s not the best part of owning investment property. We have a lot of empathy with our owners and we treat your property the way we would treat our own.
Another way we’re a little bit different is that we are very active in the National Association of Residential Property Management (NARPM). This is a national organization, and through our membership we have met hundreds of property managers from all over the country. This kind of networking allows us to talk to other professionals and learn best practices used in our industry. My husband Craig is actually the president of our local association, and we really pride ourselves on implementing the best standards and procedures into our practice of property management.
We are also committed to improving communication with our property owners and our tenants. We believe in personal contact. Technology is a great thing, but without the relationship it really doesn’t matter. Our goal at Richey Property Management is to use as much technology as possible in the background. It will make all of our systems accessible, troubleshoot different problems and handle all our workflow. In the foreground, we want to be able to maintain our personal style of communication. If there’s a problem with your property, we don’t want you to find out about it online. We want to pick up the phone and call you so we can talk about it. Trust is very important between a property manager and a property owner.
A lot of property management companies do the same functions, but the difference is in how those services are delivered. Hopefully this blog has given you a little bit of an idea of what sets us apart. Our goal is to always set high standards and do whatever we can to keep our owners happy.
